Rob Mansell sprained his left knee in the Binghamton men’s basketball team’s win over Mount St. Mary’s on Wednesday, and he will not suit up for tomorrow night’s tilt with Syracuse.
The redshirt junior, who missed all of last season as he recovered from tears of the ACL, MCL and meniscus in the same knee, is listed as day-to-day.
“It doesn’t appear to be serious,” head coach Tommy Dempsey said. “He saw the doctor today, but he’s got some kind of a little sprain, little swelling going on.”
Dempsey added that the sprain has no relation to the severe injuries Mansell sustained near the end of his sophomore season, eliminating cause for serious concern.
Mansell, who led the 2011-12 Bearcats with 14 points per game, has averaged just 2.8 points in 15.6 minutes per game this season.
