Sometime between welcome back parties and the start of classes, seniors will be hit with the reality that this is their last semester of college. Though post-graduation prospects can seem unappealing, they are inevitable. But there are ways to maximize your time left at Binghamton University and make this semester one you’ll never forget.
1. Make a bucket list
This is the perfect way to ensure you don’t miss out on anything you want to do before graduating. We all know that Binghamton is brimming with culturally stimulating attractions (just kidding), so take advantage of them.
“My friends and I wrote down all of the things we want to do this semester,” said Ally Block, a senior majoring in human development, “and will make sure that every activity is crossed off before we get our diplomas.”
Whether it’s eating at a restaurant you’ve always wanted to try, attending a B-Mets game or visiting the Binghamton Zoo (who wouldn’t want to see a live bearcat?), make it a priority to accomplish all your goals on your bucket list.
2. Make a video log
Everyone loves watching the drunken rants on “Jersey Shore,” so why not record some of your own late-night escapades? I’m not talking sex tapes here, people. Just a little harmless Flip cam action while you and your friends are living it up at the bars or eating your drunk away at Pasquale’s.
Though you might be somewhat mortified the next morning, it will be so entertaining to re-live your belligerent behavior. Or if you want to keep the footage a little tamer, designate one of the rooms in your house as the “confessional,” where all of your roommates wind up at the end of the night to recap the highlights.
3. Plan a fun trip
As seniors, we deserve to treat ourselves to one last hurrah. Going on an adventure could be the perfect solution. Whether it’s a relaxing retreat at a spa or a rowdy weekend casino binge, the options are endless if you use your imagination and do some research.
“My friends and I really want to go on a senior day-trip to a winery, since this is the last chance we’ll have to do it,” said Alyssa Canter, a senior majoring in human development.
Better known as a wine tour, this all-day drinking marathon can be something to look forward to as the semester comes to a close. It’s also the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful, warm spring day.
4. Go crazy
This is your last chance to let loose and take chances before the responsibilities of being an adult, which are so foreign to us, set in. Don’t wait for Bar Crawl to visit all the pubs and clubs Binghamton has to offer. Go out every chance you get, dance on tables, act like a slore, maybe even get in a drunken brawl. As Drake once said, “you only live once, that’s the motto.”
