SUNDAY, AUG. 28, 9:23 p.m. — Patrol responded to a report of excessively loud music from a room in Mountainview College’s Cascade Hall, said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. Patrol approached the suite door, which was propped open, and observed loud music, strobe lights in use and a blender containing red liquid on the counter. The music was so loud that officers had to yell several times in order to make their presence known to the suspects. All four 19-year-old male suspects produced identification, which confirmed to the officers that none were 21 years of age. One of the males confirmed that he had been drinking, another stated he “took a sip,” a third stated that he had not been drinking, and it was “debated” whether or not the fourth had consumed anything. It was confirmed that the red liquid was alcoholic and was subsequently disposed of. The suspects were issued verbal warnings and referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

MONDAY, AUG. 29, 10:49 p.m. — A member of Residential Life reported a marijuana odor emanating from a room in College-in-the-Woods’ Onondaga Hall, Bush said. Patrol met with the reporter and investigated the room in question, finding two 19-year-old male suspects, four 19-year-old female suspects and one 18-year-old female suspect. One of the male suspects admitted that it was his room, as well as the other male suspect’s room, and that they had just smoked a joint, and handed the officers a grinder with a burnt joint inside. They later turned over two lighters and some rolling papers to the officers. They stated that they had no additional substances and signed a consent to search, but nothing else was found. No arrests were made, and all suspects were referred to the Office of Student Conduct.
