MONDAY, MARCH 12, 12:21 p.m. — Officers in a patrol car going through Lot T-1 detected a smell of marijuana coming from one of the vehicles, said Investigator Patrick Reilly of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. After locating the car the smell was coming from, the officers identified the suspects, two female students. One of the students denied smoking, but the other said she had been smoking synthetic marijuana, which is legal. Upon searching the vehicle, the officers found two plastic baggies with a green leafy substance which tested positive for marijuana, as well as three pipes. Both then admitted to smoking, and one said the drugs were hers and was given a ticket to the Vestal Town Court, while the other was referred to judicial.
MONDAY, MARCH 12, 4:25 p.m. — A 20-year-old female student reported to University Police that she was receiving messages from an unknown person via iChat, Reilly said. While the messages were not vulgar, they were suggestive. Some messages read “I know where you live” and “I know you want me.” The victim did not know who could have been sending those messages, but she chose judicial action. There are no suspects.
MONDAY, MARCH 12, 5:30 p.m. — A 20-year-old male student came to University Police to retrieve a lost wallet, Reilly said. The student was questioned about a fictitious New Jersey license that was found in his wallet. The student admitted that it was his fake ID and he was given a ticket to the Vestal Town Court for possession of a forged instrument.
TUESDAY, MARCH 13, 5:23 p.m. — University Police received a report from a 20-year-old male student who had left his wallet in a study lounge in College-in-the-Woods’ Mohawk Hall, Reilly said. The student had been in the lounge for some time, but when he went to his room for the night, he left his jacket with his wallet in one of the pockets. The student returned six hours later to find that his wallet had disappeared. The case is under investigation, but there are no suspects.
