Grilled with Regret
FRIDAY, April 29, 10:52 p.m. — Officers were called to Lot N Friday night for criminal mischief, said Investigator Patrick Reilly of Binghamton’s New York State University Police (UPD). The victim, a 20-year-old female, stated that some time before she called she had parked in her car in the lot, but when she returned she noticed that the grill emblem had broken off and was placed on her vehicle. There was also some paint chip damage. The case is still under investigation.
Enough Said
FRIDAY, April 29, 6:30 p.m. — UPD was contacted by a resident assistant (RA) from Bingham Hall in Newing College to report two suspicious males, Reilly said. The RA reported that there were two males counting money in the bathroom together and when the RA entered the bathroom they had gone into the stall together. Officers were able to, with the help of the RA, locate one of the suspects, later found to be a 26-year-old male, at Moefest. The officers didn’t want to make a scene, so they didn’t approach him until he walked away from the area. They found a pink pill in his bag which he claimed to be his “dick pill” but was later found to just be Adderall. He was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, but refused to answer any questions without his lawyer.
Vomit Violation
SUNDAY, May 1, 1:20 a.m. — Early Sunday morning, officers were flagged down by a taxi driver, Reilly said. The driver, a 35-year-old male, said that someone, later identified as an 18-year-old female, had thrown up in his taxi but was refusing to pay the clean-up fee. He was informed by UPD that she is not obliged to pay, which the driver said he knew, but wanted her information so he could take her to small claims court. She was later located and identified.
Cut It Out
SUNDAY, May 1, 9:10 pm. — Officers responded to the College-in-the-Woods Dining Hall for a harassment dispute, Reilly said. The incident took place earlier in the day, around 4:30 p.m, but was not reported until the evening. They spoke with a Sodexo employee who witnessed an altercation. The witness said she saw the suspect, a BU student and 20-year-old male, laying his head on the cutting board when a customer claimed it to be unsanitary. The victim, a 30-year-old male employee, told the student that they didn’t want to get involved but that the act was in fact unsanitary. This prompted a physical altercation between the men. The victim has said he wants criminal prosecution and the case is still under investigation.
