This fall, Binghamton University will welcome new and returning students back in a big way.
To kick off the school year, Campus Activities is bringing indie band Misterwives to preform at the third annual Shindig at the Fountain. The free concert will be held on August 28 from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. Aptly named, the event will be held in front of the Harpur College fountain outside of Glenn G. Bartle Library.
In addition to the concert, a Ferris wheel and other attractions will be brought to campus for the event.
If you’ve never heard of Misterwives, now is probably a good time to add them to your next Spotify playlist. The indie-pop band just released their first album “Our Own House” in February, filled with songs you can move to. The New York-based band formed in 2012, and have since played all over, including music festivals Lollapalooza and Boston Calling. Check out the album’s title track if you’re looking for a catchy song you can dance to. Also notable is their cover of Vance Joy’s “Riptide” and their current top Spotify song, “Reflections.”
Opening for Misterwives will be the band Public, an indie-pop trio from Cincinnati. Check out their songs “Pretty Face” and “Make You Mine” to get introduced.
Don’t be lame and skip this for Downtown, freshmen; State Street isn’t going anywhere.
