Sunday evening gave audiences in the Osterhout Concert Theater an opportunity to see seven speakers in the fifth annual TEDxBinghamtonUniversity. The event featured speakers from around the world — including a student from Binghamton University, a hula-hoop artist from the Netherlands and a CEO in Dubai. The theme of this year’s TEDx, “Walk the Talk,” meant each of the speakers have worked in the field that their talk was presenting.

The evening started with opening remarks from co-director Stephen Prosperi, followed by Adam Eskin, founder of the Dig Inn Seasonal Market; Sunny Hostin, a Binghamton University alumna and journalist at CNN; Zephyr Teachout, a former New York state gubernatorial candidate; and Christopher Fix, a BU alumnus and CEO of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange. The intermission saw Quimbamba, a Latin dance troupe, dance on stage before the talks continued with Jack Fischer, a sophomore majoring in computer science and the winner of the TEDx student speaker contest, Maria Santelli, executive director of the Center on Conscience & War and Lisa Lottie, a world-renowned hula-hoop artist.

The ending remarks were given by co-director Stephanie Izquieta to a packed house in the Anderson Center.
