Pipe Dream just couldn’t wait until tomorrow night’s Binghamton/Boston University quarterfinal game to find out what happens, so we decided to simulate the game using Xbox 360’s EA Sports March Madness 2007.

The Bearcats will be hoping this simulation is wrong, as Boston defeated Binghamton, 64-58.

Binghamton got off to a hot start, jumping to an early 6-0 lead, when the Terriers responded with a 15-2 run and never looked back. Boston shot 48 percent for the game and was led by Corey Lowe, who had 22 points, and Tyler Morris, who added 16.

The Bearcats put some pressure on Boston in the second half, cutting a 15-point lead down to four at one point, but they never got any closer. Binghamton had a chance to cut the lead again, but they turned the ball over, leading to a Boston 3-pointer.

Binghamton shot 40 percent for the game and struggled from behind the arc, shooting 31 percent.

Lazar Trifunovic and Mike Gordon led the way, scoring 16 and 14 points, respectively. The rest of the team struggled, with Steve Proctor and Troy Hailey combining for six points while Richie Forbes added eight.

But the big difference in the game, however, was on the inside, where the Terriers out-rebounded the Bearcats by 11.

While Binghamton’s virtual season may be over, the real Bearcats will hope to see reverse results this weekend.
