The Binghamton women’s lacrosse team fell to the Vermont Catamounts this past Saturday 21-7, dropping the Bearcats into last place in the America East standings and officially ending their playoff hopes.
Junior attack Heather Grose put the Bearcats (4-11, 0-5 AE) up early after scoring the first goal of the game, but the Catamounts (6-8, 1-4 AE) fired back by scoring five unanswered goals. The two teams then traded goals until the first-half whistle blew, as Vermont headed into the locker room with a 9-5 advantage.
The Catamounts continued to dominate the game in the second half, scoring 12 goals as opposed to just two by the Bearcats. Vermont came out firing, putting the game out of reach by scoring the first four goals.
