The Irish Student Union sponsored a Thursday night concert by irish-American rock band Black 47 in the Mandela Room of the Old University Union. Tickets were $5 for students and $7 for non-students. A sizeable crowd turned out to see the band, who has been releasing albums since 1989. Their latest album, “Elvis Murphy’s Green Suede Shoes” was released in 2005. The concert was one of the Irish Student Union’s first big events on campus.
