Senior Faisal Mohamed had a strong showing at the Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional, hosted by Princeton over the weekend. Mohamed, unseeded in the 128-man singles draw, won three matches to reach the round of 16. He opened with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over Noah Gardner of Brown, and then posted back-to-back upset wins over seeded players, knocking off 22nd-seeded Daniel Freeman of Dartmouth, 6-4, 6-7 (7), 2-0 ret., and then eliminating sixth-seeded Bogden Borta of Columbia, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. His tournament run ended with a 6-4, 6-4 loss to 26th-seeded Omar Laalej of Drexel. Binghamton concludes its fall season at both the Penn Class and Cornell Fall Indoor Invitational on Oct. 26 to 28.
