Dear student body ‘ It’s been a while since we’ve talked, you know, a close intimate conversation where we can share our innermost thoughts and feelings. To tell you the truth, it’s been longer than we can remember since you opened up and told us how you feel and what you want. We miss you and we want to hear from you!

We can’t help but feel like maybe you’ve just gotten so used to us that you don’t really pay too much attention to what we’re saying. Sure, you might think you’re hiding it, but we see you occasionally yawn and roll your eyes when you’re reading us. What’s just as awful is when it makes it back to us that we’re not giving you exactly what you want to read. It hurts us, you know?

We mean, we are YOUR paper. We’re here exclusively for you, and we want to be able to give you what you want. But we’re just not mind readers. If you don’t tell us what we should be publishing, then we have no way of knowing. Sure, we do our best, but it’s hard to know exactly what it is you’re doing and thinking all the time (especially since we spend all of our time down in this little basement office, wishing we had a window to see outside to the real world).

So please, just give us a little help. If you’re holding a cool event, or if you know something that you think should make it in the paper, send us an e-mail (pdnews@bupipedream.com), give us a call (777-2515) or just stop in and let us know (University Union West-B03). And if there’s something we’re doing that you don’t like, and you think we need to work on some stuff, you have to tell us. We can’t change and improve if we don’t know what we need to do.

But don’t worry, we’re not just relying on you to go out of your way for us. We know that this relationship is a two-way street, and we have to give just as much as we get. We’re partners in this, after all. That’s why we’ve been making a stronger effort to find out what you want and to give it to you. We’re going to talk to student groups (and just everyone in general) more, and pay more attention to what you think is important, rather than just what we think you want to see on the pages every week.

We just want you to know, this relationship is really important to us. You’re our whole life ‘ our whole reason for being ‘ and we want to see you happy. So please, keep giving ‘us’ a chance to work, and share your feelings with us more. After all, Dr. Phil does say that communication is the key to a lasting relationship.

Yours with all our love,

Pipe Dream
