A former Binghamton University student was found Wednesday evening with multiple stab wounds in a wooded area off Brooks Avenue in Vestal, according to a press release from the Vestal Police Department.
The student, 19, of 103 Chestnut St., Binghamton, was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital where he is in the Intensive Care Unit, police said.
According to the Press & Sun-Bulletin, he was found with a laceration to his neck and cuts to his arm. A local woman was led to the man by her dog.
University spokesman Ryan Yarosh said that the student is not currently registered with the school, but that he was a student at BU from fall 2006 until last May.
Sue Cudo, the nursing supervisor at Wilson, said Thursday evening that the student’s condition was critical.
Lieutenant John Taylor of Vestal Police said that the case is under active investigation and declined to comment on any suspects or details.
