LOCK: Green Bay (-9.5) over TAMPA BAY
Winless Tampa Bay goes up against the Packers and Aaron Rodgers, who is now the No. 1-ranked fantasy quarterback in points this season (woohoo for having him on my team!). Green Bay beat the woeful Lions and Browns in back-to-back weeks by a combined score of 57-3. The Bucs don’t stand a chance. Looking ahead at their schedule, 0-16 is really starting to look like a plausible possibility.
ATLANTA (-10.0) over Washington
The Falcons are a dominant offensive squad when they’re firing on all cylinders, and I don’t see any way that Washington can stop them. Their joke of an offense can’t put points on the board: they are ranked 29th in the NFL in points per game. There’s no way Atlanta falls on Sunday.
NEW ORLEANS (-13.5) over Carolina
There’s no way Drew Brees and Co. drop one in the dome. I don’t care how hot Carolina is. The Saints have to lose eventually, but it shouldn’t come this week. The Saints have far too much firepower on offense and a good enough defense to take out a weak Panthers team. Yeah, they beat the Cardinals last week, but New Orleans is playing football at such a high level right now. I’m already salivating over the Saints’ Nov. 30 Monday night showdown with the Patriots.
PHILADELPHIA (-3.0) over Dallas
I like the Eagles here. They played extremely well last week, and Donovan McNabb is throwing the ball so well. If Dallas’ pass rush gives him problems, I think Dallas wins this game. But I think the Eagles will handle it. Plus, they’ll have a solid running back (whether it’s Brian Westbrook or LeSean McCoy) and a ferocious defense. The wild card is Miles Austin; if the Eagles contain him, they can secure a win.
