Bud, be wiser
SUNDAY, NOV. 19, 1:03 a.m. — Police responded to a call from residents at Filmore Hall in Hillside Community for a noise complaint. When police arrived at the noisy room, residents there allowed the officers in. Officers saw many beer cans throughout the apartment. When officers asked the age of one female visitor holding an alcoholic beverage, she was hesitant to respond, only saying, “I have to go to the bathroom.” Soon after, another visitor locked himself in the bathroom with the female, and when officers tried to get him to open the door, he said that he was urinating. After several minutes the officers got frustrated and told the two that they had better exit, at which point they did, with the male student holding an open can of Keystone. One of the officers asked how old the male who had locked himself in the bathroom was in order to ensure he was old enough to drink. He first insisted that he was 21, then gave a birth date which indicated that he was 22. When the officer demanded to see ID, he provided one which showed that he would not turn 21 until December. The officers then arrested both the male and female. While the officers were writing the tickets, the male continued to state that he wasn’t holding a beer when he came out of the bathroom. While others in the room kept insisting to him that he keep quiet and respect the officers, the male refused. Their appearance tickets are for Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m.
