SATURDAY, Feb. 14, 2:45 p.m. — An officer operating a vehicle on the West Access road coming down from Hillside Community noticed people sitting on the ice of the pond in the Nature Preserve, said Investigator Dennis Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. When he went to the pond, the officer saw three male students and a female student sitting about 50 yards from the shore. He warned them to get off the ice, and that students had fallen through the ice in previous years. The students laughed and told the officer that they “couldn’t believe they were on the ice.”
MONDAY, Feb. 16, 1:50 a.m. — Officers were called to the Delaware Service Drive for a report of unreasonable noise when a 20-year-old male student began arguing with a cab driver, Bush said. The student complained he was dissatisfied with the service he received due to the cab being overcrowded. The officers told the student he had to pay for the cab or he could be arrested. They also explained that if he had a complaint then he would need to take it up with the cab company. The student remained belligerent, and upon a search, officers noted that he had in his possession another person’s driver’s license. The officers took the license from the student and no further action was taken.
TUESDAY, Feb. 17, 11 a.m. — A 37-year-old male employee of Residential Life called University police when the Dickinson Community Office received an obscene package, Bush said. Inside the package was a card which said, “Dickinson Sucks Dick,” a dildo and an invoice for the dildo which read, “Doc Johnson Mr. Softee 8-inch dildo, lavender.” The 19-year-old student who owned the credit card the dildo was charged to said that he had unauthorized charges to his credit card. The student later informed officers that he learned who had used his card but wouldn’t press charges. The students will be referred to Judicial Affairs.
