Charlie Fackler, a senior sociology major, was an all-league foward at Half Hollow Hills East High School in Dix Hills, N.Y. As a senior in high school he averaged 14.7 points and 10.6 rebounds. In his senior season his team went 14-7, including 9-3 in league. Throughout his high school career he produced 444 points. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches, Fackler will be a foward for the men’s basketball team.

Preston Pena, junior accounting major, played basketball for three years of his high school career at Frederick Douglass Academy in Harlem. The 6-foot guard helped his team advance to the PSAL final four during his junior year. Throughout his career he averaged seven points and 4.1 rebounds and made 32 consecutive free throws.

Anthony Valerio, sophomore mechanical engineering major, was a scholar-athlete for Deer Park High School in Deer Park, N.Y. As a junior he was academic all-county, and as a senior he was the all-league selection. As a senior he led his team to the playoffs and averaged double-double in points-rebounds. The 6-foot-4-inch guard was a member of the Suffolk County Top-40 list.

Ramon Bernardez, a freshman enrolled in Harpur College, was a two-time team MVP for Washington Irving High School in New York, New York. The 6-foot guard averaged 11.2 points, 5.3 assists and four rebounds as a high school senior, when his team finished 11-5 and reached the playoffs.

Javon Ralling, a 6-foot-3-inch freshman foward, averaged 15 points and nine rebounds as a senior at St. Agnes Boys High School in New York, N.Y. As a junior he helped his team win CHSAA Class B inter-sectional title, and earned academic distinction as a senior.

Mike Horn, a 5-foot-10-inch freshman guard enrolled in Harpur College, was the first-team All-Conference player for Pascack Hills High School in Woodcliff Lake, N.J. During high school he received honorable mention all-county and in his senior year helped lead his team to an undefeated conference season and sectional championship. During the sectional championship he scored 14 points over Jefferson, and finished with a season high of 21 points against Fair Lawn.
