eClub general interest meeting
Students of all majors are welcome to attend the eClub general interest meeting on Thurs., Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. in the Old Union’s East Lounge.
The S.A.-chartered group enjoys public speaking, MIS, computer science, marketing and leadership. Free refreshments will be provided.

NYPIRG will hold credit card workshop tonight.
The BU chapter of the New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) will be holding a workshop to arm students against debt and to protect their financial future. It will be called, “Credit Cards 101.”
“The typical American college student owes over $2,000 on an average of four different credit cards,” Kirk McLean, NYPIRG Project Coordinator said.
Credit cards can either give students an opportunity to build a good credit history, or they can drive a student into debt. “This workshop is designed for all students. We want to teach them how to build a good credit history, save money on interest rates and fees, get out of debt and choose the right card for their individual lifestyle,” McLean said.
The workshop will be held on Tues., Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Old Union Hall. All students are welcome to the free event.

BU hosted meetings on the future of U.S.-U.N. relations
The Americans for Informed Democracy at BU hosted a Binghamton town hall meeting on the future of U.S.-U.N. relations in Lecture Hall Nine. The featured speaker who made the opening remarks was the Honorable Irving J. Stolberg.
Stolberg is President of the Connecticut Division of the U.N., has worked in more than 90 countires and served as the former president of the National Conference of State Legislatures, which is the highest state legislative office in the USA.
Citizens were given the opportunity to share their views at the meeting. “Through this town hall, we’re trying to build a discussion in Binghamton about the strengths and weaknesses of the United Nations and to being the process of putting the pending recommendations for U.N. reform before the American public,” Erin McNamara, campus coordinator of Americans for Informed Democracy, said.

Wal-Mart documentary screening
On Tue, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in Lecture Hall Two “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price,” a documentary on Wal-Mart will be screened.
The documentary is sponsored by Indy Media Center and others. It “takes you into the real lives of workers and their families, business owners and their communities.”

The Hinman Production Company will hold pitch meeting
People who wish to pitch a show for spring semester may do so at a meeting held by the Hinman Production Company at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Hinman Commons. The pitch must be “a concise and coherent synopsis of the show.”
Furthermore, elections for the ’06-’07 e-board will be conducted at 7 p.m. on the same day. Submit a letter of intent to the HPC office (in the Hinman Commons) by Nov. 28 if interested in holding office.

ESCAPE bus tickets for the Thanksgiving break are being sold in UUW-320. Office hours are noon-4 p.m. Mon.-Thu and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Fri.
