Last evening’s Meet the Coach night started with head coach Kevin Broadus announcing some new additions to the coaching staff. In addition to retaining Lawrence Brenneman, Broadus has hired Don Anderson and Julius Allen to sit on the BU bench.

‘It’s really, really good and I am very fortunate to have them,’ Broadus said. ‘I am gathering a group of guys with a lot of college coaching experience.’

Anderson has more than 24 years of college coaching experience and is coming from America East rival UMBC, where he served as an assistant coach last season.

‘I am very excited,’ said Anderson, who was present last night. ‘Coach is a good friend of mine; we know each other from the D.C. area and when he asked me to join him, it was an easy decision.’

Allen, who was not in attendance last night due to family obligations, served as an assistant coach the last couple of seasons at the University of South Florida. A native of the Bronx, Allen has been coaching since 1992.
