Lock: GREEN BAY (-10) over Carolina ‘ It’s gutsy to lock a 10-point spread, but Brett Favre continues to turn water into wine. The Panthers meanwhile come into Lambeau sporting a 4-1 road record, but the victories were over St. Louis, Atlanta, New Orleans (when the Saints were bad) and Arizona. Now there’s a who’s who of NFL awfulness.
SEATTLE (-6.5) over Chicago ‘ Plain and simple, Seattle does not like to lose at home. The Bears, meanwhile, turn the reigns back over to Rex Grossman and his 53.9 passer rating over Brian Griese, who actually won some games. That makes sense.
Pittsburgh (-10) over JETS ‘ The Steelers have been strangely average on the road, losing at Arizona and Denver. It won’t matter as the Jets and Dolphins seem resigned to making sure New England wins more games than the rest of the East combined.
BUFFALO (+16.5) over New England ‘ Ask Tony Romo and the Cowboys how hard it is to win a night game in Buffalo. Brady’s boys won’t lose, but they won’t win by three scores either.
