After some preseason concerns, the men’s basketball team is off to its best start since 2002 and currently sits in first place in the America East. As long as St. Rose doesn’t make good on its offer to join the America East, Binghamton University should be OK this year.
As nice as that 3-2 start has been, something tells me the record would be 5-0 if Schaefer Jackson were still on the team.
It’s too bad there wasn’t a microphone on Jeremy Shockey during the end of the Giants’ collapse vs. Tennessee last week. Something tells me he would have made Michael Richards look like Martin Luther King, Jr.

In baseball news, George Steinbrenner hasn’t lost that competitive attitude after all. After watching the hated Red Sox dish out $51.1 million to talk to Japanese sensation Daisuke Matsuzaka, the Yankees owner one-upped his rivals by offering Nintendo a shocking $40 million for the right to negotiate with Pikachu.
And Binghamton’s track season kicks off this week with high expectations. But the team will have trouble replacing departed hurdler Hasani Hampden, who broke all BU records last year when he jumped over the New University Union’s clock tower.
