Lock: Dallas (–4) over Giants
A few weeks ago I called the Giants the most overrated team in the league. Plenty of Giants fans threatened me, saying I was wrong, but I haven’t heard from them much since, as Big Blue has lost three straight games, each more excruciating than the last. The Giants are playing miserably in every facet of the game, and Tom Coughlin has lost control of the ship. Tony Romo has awakened the Cowboys, and he will continue to shine this week; Dallas should come away with this one and essentially clinch the NFC East (unless Mark picks the Cowboys too).
Upset Special: Arizona (+7) over St. Louis
The Cardinals have looked better lately, as their offense has improved, and even if they are not going anywhere this season, they could play spoiler the rest of the way. St. Louis was extremely overrated coming out of the gate; their defense is mediocre and started the year by beating bad teams. And while Arizona is a bad team, they can keep the Rams from beating them by a touchdown or more.
Game 1: Indianapolis (–8) over Tennessee
The Colts’ offense sparkled last week and they look primed for a strong run to end the season. Tennessee has made strides and despite some strong games against good teams, they still have work to do. Colts should roll.
Game 2: Chicago (–9 1/2) over Minnesota
Despite some inconsistencies, the Bears have been one of the top teams in the league. Minnesota has followed its familiar pattern of failing amid high expectations and the Vikings’ offense has been dismal most of the year; the Chicago defense should shut them down.
