Gleeks can finally rejoice on April 13 at the special time of 9:28 p.m. because Fox’s newest hit sensation “Glee” is back.
Fans can expect all their favorite characters to return, along with many guest stars. In fact, the special appearances set for the rest of the season are sure to cause major excitement.
Following in the footsteps of stars like Kristin Chenoweth and Eve, many other celebrities are looking to leave their mark at McKinley High School. Coming up this season, Neil Patrick Harris and Molly Shannon will both be causing some drama with Sue Sylvester. Idina Menzel is slated to appear in a few episodes as well, with a possible make-out session with the school hottie Mr. Shue. Jennifer Lopez is also set to be part of the staff, making her debut as the cafeteria lunch lady.
Along with the stars already on board, there are many others trying to make their way onto the hit series. Adam Lambert has a rumored guest spot coming up and Julia Roberts has reportedly asked creator Ryan Murphy for a guest spot as well. According to Perez Hilton, at the Golden Globes, Julia Roberts approached the cast with the idea that she could play Sue Sylvester’s friend.
Justin Timberlake is another celeb on the long list of potentials, whom the cast seems most excited about.
“[Justin] is the one the kids jump up and down about every day and beg me to meet with him. I’m a huge fan of his music. I think he’s so talented. And he’s a true triple threat: He can sing, dance and act. So yeah, we’d love to have him on. We start shooting the second season in July and I think I will work some magic around that time for him if I can,” Murphy recently told E! News.
Along with the many stars making their way onto “Glee,” the music in the upcoming episodes should not disappoint either. One major episode making waves is the Madonna tribute. Accompanying the episode is a soundtrack that will hit the stores within the same week. Lady Gaga fans are in luck, too. An episode dedicated to her tracks is also rumored to be on the horizon.
The “Glee” cast and creators really know how to draw in the fans. With the constant appearance of awesome celebrities and all the best music, it seems “Glee” is only going to get better.
Sophomore psychology major Sarah Greenberg can’t wait to see how the rest of the season turns out.
“I’m so excited for ‘Glee’ to come back. The fact that so many great stars are going to be on it gives the rest of the season so much potential,” Greenberg said.
Whether new to the “Glee” scene or patiently awaiting its return, the rest of this season should not disappoint.
