Gusts of wind knocked the satellite dish perched on the University Union, that feeds HBO to campus, off its mast sometime late last week, leaving fans of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” to go without their HBO for the weekend. They couldn’t find out, for example, that Larry David got temporaily knocked off, only to return a reject from heaven. Sorry to ruin the ending.
Next time students notice that a TV channel isn’t working, suggests Donald L. Rauschmeier, the senior associate director of BU’s telecommunications office, they should call the telecom office’s repair line, on campus, at 7-6111. He also suggested they call the University police at 7-2393 after business hours because the police can alert telecom technicians 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“If they just get a hold of us, we’ll get it fixed.”
As soon as Rauschmeier found out that HBO wasn’t working, for instance, technicians from the HBO contractor, Fallsearth Station, were dispatched to the Union.
“We could have gotten them hear Saturday morning,” Rauschmeier said.
