New York City’s second annual Fashion’s Night Out proved once again to be a successful event. Created by Anna Wintour last year as a way to spark shopping in a downtrodden economy, Sept. 10 for the second year saw a slew of designers, editors, journalists and celebrities out and about to promote the fashion industry. Bloomingdale’s was home to fashion designer Kay Unger’s event ‘Karaoke with Kay’ in which she, along with ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ stars Caroline Manzo, Dina Manzo and their daughters, for shoppers. Release was lucky enough to briefly catch up with the two housewives and get some scoop.
Caroline Manzo
Release: So after finishing season two, are you recognized more than you were after finishing season one?
Caroline Manzo: Yeah, it’s at the point where I’ll be in the car at a red light and people are beeping their horns and screaming next to me. That’s really cool.
Release: Are you excited for season three? Have you started filming?
CM: You know what, to my knowledge there’s a season three, but I don’t know who’s on it.
Release: So the cast isn’t confirmed yet?
CM: No, it’s not confirmed.
Release: But Danielle’s definitely out?
CM: If you believe what you read in the papers then yes, but again I don’t know who’s on it.
Release: Was the reunion show really as crazy as it looked?
CM: That and more, but I guess that’s part of the equation, right?
Release: Were you shocked when Danielle went over to hug Teresa and Jacqueline?
CM: I think my expression spoke for itself.
Release: (laughs) Thank you so much.
CM: My pleasure.
Dina Manzo
Release: Are you upset that you left the show? Are you happy?
Dina Manzo: I’m actually relieved that I left when I left. It seems that all hell broke loose after I left, so I’m definitely happy.
Release: Well we all definitely miss you.
DM: Aw, thank you.
Release: Any chance of you coming back next season?
DM: Um, it really depends on who is on the new cast.
Release: So did you watch the reunion show? Were you in shock?
DM: I watched like five minutes of it and that was enough.
Release: What are your plans for your future?
DM: I’m working hard on Project Ladybug, of course, and planning fun events like this.
