Here’s a look at how the local teams and some other favorites did in this weekend’s NFL draft:

Buffalo Bills

Best pick: RB Marshawn Lynch

Overall grade: B+. I’ve spent years making fun of the Bills, but this year they made all the right moves in the draft.

New York Giants

Best pick: WR Steve Smith

Overall grade: B-. I like the first two picks in Aaron Ross and Smith. The rest weren’t very exciting.

New York Jets

Best pick: LB David Harris

Overall grade: C. They got two good football players, Darrelle Revis and David Harris, in the first-round pick, but are they a team that is just two players away from being a Super Bowl team? They gave up a lot to move up to get them.

New England Patriots

Best pick: Trading a fourth-round pick for Randy Moss.

Overall grade: A. They get Moss, a good player in Brandon Meriweather, although he comes with character issues, and they traded their second first-round pick for San Francisco’s No. 1 next year, which should be higher.

Cleveland Browns

Best pick: QB Brady Quinn

Overall grade: A+. They get a franchise left tackle (Joe Thomas) and a franchise quarterback in Quinn. If Eric Wright can stay out of trouble they got a franchise corner. They move from the perennial armpit of the NFL to a possible contender in their division over a 48-hour period.

Dallas Cowboys

Best pick: DE Anthony Spencer

Overall grade: C+. I like Spencer and Doug Free, but third-round pick James Marten probably went a round too high and, unless Isaiah Stanback is the next Randle El, using a third-round pick on him was too much of a reach.
