Dear my beloved Netflix,

How do I love thee? I can’t even begin to count the ways. You have slipped into my life quickly and silently and yet, it feels like you have been here forever.

When I need a break from work, I turn to you. When I want some alone time, I turn to you. As I sat at home over spring break while others traveled to Florida or the Caribbean, I turned to you. I ask myself, where else can I watch various old and new movies and TV shows in the ease and comfort of my own home? Maybe some of your opponents out there will challenge me by bringing up other Web sites, whether legitimate or illegal. Alas, I respond by stating that on those Web sites, I am forced to suffer through advertisement breaks and the risk of infecting my computer.

Netflix, you truly are the only one who allows for easy, on-demand viewing of almost anything out there. Plus, the fact that you are partnered with Starz to allow viewing of anything a Starz channel is currently playing really is the icing on the cake. I haven’t even mentioned the fact that, aside from on-demand viewing on either my computer or television, there is the ease of ordering DVDs directly to my house.

No traveling, no moving anywhere except to my mailbox. Netflix, I thank you for what you have done for me. You have given me a place to turn to when I need to procrastinate; a place to turn to when I need something to do. Before you, times were hard and, now, my life seems complete. Netflix, I love you madly, deeply and sincerely.
