CHANGES IN GARBAGE COLLECTION FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY
Changes in garbage collection for the City of Binghamton for the Thanksgiving holiday will be as follows:
Tuesday’s collection will be on Monday. Wednesday’s collection will be on Tuesday. Thursday’s collection will be on Wednesday. There will be no collection on Thursday. Friday’s collection will remain the same. Yard waste will not be collected at any time. City Hall will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24.
FLASH FLOOD AID AVAILABLE
Residents are encouraged to notify Public Works of any major debris that needs removal following Thursday’s flash flood by calling the city’s dispatch at (607) 772-7020.
Residents who experienced water heater or furnace damage should contact their insurance agent immediately and begin normal procedure for replacement. Residents with limited resources should immediately contact United Way’s First Call for Help at (607) 729-9100 or 1-800-227-5353.
For those residents who might be experiencing extreme duress or mental anxiety from flood damage, please contact Mental Health Association’s Project Recovery at (607) 771-8888 or (607) 221-7041.
FREE FLUTE CONCERT TO TAKE PLACE DEC. 1
The Binghamton University Flute Studio Recital will occur in the Casadesus Recital Hall at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1. Selections from Hahn, Handel and Chopin will be played. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PURCHASE ESCAPE TICKETS
The ESCAPE office will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 22 — so today from noon to 4 p.m. will be the last day to buy Thanksgiving tickets in the ESCAPE office. There is a limited supply, and tickets must be paid for in cash. Greyhound and Shortline tickets may also be purchased at additional discounts.
ISRAELI FILM SERIES CONCLUDES
The six week Israeli film series concludes tonight at 8 p.m. in Lecture Hall 8. The film screened will be “Another Road Home.” It tells the tale of an Israeli woman’s search to reconnect with her Palestinian caregiver. The event is sponsored by Hillel at Binghamton, and this film is co-sponsored by the Muslim Student Association, Organization of Arab Students, the Political Action Committee and the Student Action Collective.
