The full details of Bob Dylan and His Band’s upcoming performance at Binghamton University emerged last week.

Pre-sale tickets for the Wednesday, Nov. 17 concert became available to the public on the BU Events Center website on Oct. 5. They can be accessed with use of the password ‘bearcats.’ The tickets are sold in batches and cost $45.50 plus handling fees.

Student tickets priced at $25.00 plus handling fees went on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9. They will be available at the Events Center ticket window and online.

A total of 5,100 tickets will be sold for the concert, 1,000 of which are reserved at student pricing. The rest will be sold to the community online at regular pricing.

‘In my experience, it is better for students to get tickets online,’ said Eric Backlund, director of the Events Center.

Though the Student Association has no direct involvement, they hope to help advertise the event. Concert chair of the Student Association Lauren Coringrato said that they would partner with Magic City Productions, the organization bringing Dylan to BU.

Dylan, a 69-year-old American singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the 1960s, has been an iconic figure in American rock and folk music for decades. He has won 11 Grammy Awards and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Since the late 1980s, he has toured with various musicians on what fans fondly call the ‘Never Ending Tour.’

According to Magic City Productions, the concert promotions company that booked Dylan and his Band for the Event Center, there will be no opening act.

In the beginning of this year Dylan toured Japan and Europe, but began a stateside tour this summer. Binghamton is one of two New York State universities on this leg of his tour.

Dylan’s fall tour kicked off in Ft. Lauderdale at Nova Southeastern University on Oct. 6.
