Le Moyne (21-5) extended the longest winning streak in the nation to 13, out-slugging visiting Binghamton 21-16 in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday afternoon.
The Bearcats (19-13) used seven pitchers in a predetermined rotation and allowed 21 runs on 20 hits to the red hot Dolphins. BU’s defense, which was playing without four starters, committed four errors.
Le Moyne scored nine runs in the third inning to pull ahead 9-4, but the Bearcats rallied to tie the score at 14 in the seventh, capped off by an RBI double from Brendon Hitchcock.
But Le Moyne came right back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh and five in the eighth to pull away for good.
Hitchcock, Jeff Monaco and Ryan James all hit home runs for the Bearcats. James finished with five RBI and Ken Jacobi went 4-for-4.
