Here’s a conversation between future NBA Hall of Famer Sean Lishansky (SEELJA) and three-time WNBA MVP Brooke Schneider about the 2005-06 New York Knicks
SEELJA: broooooooke!
BrOoKiE2332: go away, haha jk, what’s up?
SEELJA: just relaxing, what’s up with you?
BrOoKiE2332: oh not much… just doing my nails, straightening my hair, and watching some knicks bball!
SEELJA: you tape all the preseason games too???
BrOoKiE2332: ha not quite, only losers do that… but i’m actually curious to see how larry brown and eddy curry do in new york
SEELJA: curry has the potential to be the best center in the league, and if that’s the case, brown can take this team very far
BrOoKiE2332: well they do have some major weaknesses and i have to fault isiah thomas for that with all his bonehead moves!
SEELJA: you’re a bonehead, what weaknesses?
BrOoKiE2332: why did they trade for malik rose and maurice taylor, while in the process trading their only legit center in nazr mohammed? and now that they have eddy curry, it looks pretty foolish to give jerome james all that $ for sitting on the bench… and how bout trading kurt thomas? was that necessary!?
SEELJA: slow down tiger… they traded nazr to secure the spurs a championship, now san antonio owes ny one, maybe bruce bowen down the line… but you make a good point with james, $29 million is a lot of money for a guy who has a career average of 4.9 points since being drafted in ’98
BrOoKiE2332: i can’t stand isiah and james dolan, they make me want to pound my head against the wall and start rooting for new jersey!
SEELJA: lol nj is going to be tough if nenad krstic steps up, with the trio of vincanity, kidd and jefferson
BrOoKiE2332: if only they signed shareef abdur-rahim, they really would have been a threat
SEELJA: yea, but like the knicks, their biggest weakness is on the defensive end
BrOoKiE2332: right, and that’s where larry brown comes in… but look at this roster, curry for all his size averaged what, like six rebounds a game? and stephon marbury and jamal crawford’s “shoot first” mentality… not to mention quentin richardson’s bonehead plays
SEELJA: well richardson isn’t going to lead the league in three pointers on this team, but he might fit in better than kurt did
BrOoKiE2332: maybe… just because we have a lot of depth down low… maybe not quality… but depth lol
SEELJA: at least they have some solid young players, trevor ariza might start and nate robinson is so much fun to watch
BrOoKiE2332: i guess i have to give credit to isiah in the draft, channing frye has potential… michael sweetney was a solid pick, watch him have a better season that curry
SEELJA: yea, i loved sweetney, but curry is in his fifth season at the age of 22… 20 and 8 isn’t out of the question
BrOoKiE2332: yeah i guess it just worries me that for a guy his size, he doesn’t rebound the ball!
SEELJA: curry will be fine, it’s getting marbury and crawford to play some d that will be the problem, last year kurt had to guard three guys
BrOoKiE2332: i still don’t get why they traded him, he had a reasonable contract and was a double-double every night!
SEELJA: yea well it’s a completely new team now, houston was the only one left
BrOoKiE2332: aww i’m going to miss houston and his sweet foul shots haha
SEELJA: yea its going to be tough watching the knicks without #20 on the court
BrOoKiE2332: do u want a box of kleenex’s or something?
SEELJA: you’re too kind, but let’s get serious… boston, nj, phili, toronto… can the knicks win the atlantic?
BrOoKiE2332: with the ton of mediocrity out there, why the hell not! the knicks aren’t great, but they don’t need to be!
SEELJA: so you think they’ll make the playoffs but have no shot against detroit, miami, indiana or cleveland?
BrOoKiE2332: basically!
SEELJA: well, at the very least, they will be more exciting to watch than in recent years… but if new york is playing in san antonio come june, remember, you heard it here first
BrOoKiE2332: haha, fair enough… well i have to go! i have to get ready for THE BS SHOW, where we have sports debates like this and so much more!! sundays at 8:30!
SEELJA: what a cheap plug… john starks is your guest next week, right?
BrOoKiE2332: yes, we have all the great knicks on the show 😉
SEELJA: that’s awesome brooke, catch ya on the rebound
BrOoKiE2332: haha let me go back to doing my nails! lata!
