Guns, car chases, prostitutes and the mob, all in one ordinary ‘Date Night.’ At least that’s the case for Steve Carell and Tina Fey, who star in this month’s hilarious new comedy.

The movie centers around the Fosters, played by Carell and Fey, who are an everyday, married couple from the suburbs trying to spice up their marriage a bit. However, one night in the city is all they need to realize how great they already have it.

The action begins when Phil and Claire Foster take the reservations of the Triplehorns, a couple who neglected to show up to a very uptight, trendy restaurant in Manhattan. It becomes a decision they quickly regret, as it appears that the Triplehorns have gotten themselves into terrible trouble. When the Fosters are believed to be the Triplehorns, it is up to Phil and Claire to solve the issue so they don’t end up killed. This leads them on a wild ride throughout the city where both of them do things they never thought possible.

Steve Carell and Tina Fey’s portrayal of the Fosters is believable and ridiculously funny. Their chemistry is undeniable, and they really represent what happens to many marriages as they fall into routines.

Carell and Fey’s comedic talents are truly displayed in this movie. They really bounce off each other and show off their improvisation skills in many different scenes.

‘Date Night’ also comes packed with stars in the supporting cast. Mark Wahlberg plays Holbrooke, an ex-client of Claire Foster, who acquires CIA-type skills. Holbrooke is not only good at what he does, but he is also incredibly gorgeous and constantly shirtless. This, of course, adds to the comedy as Steve Carell and Tina Fey’s reactions to him are priceless.

James Franco and Mila Kunis play the Triplehorns. The scene where the Fosters meet the Triplehorns is one of the highlights of the movie. Franco and Kunis’ characters, Taste and Whippet, are hysterical.

Leighton Meester, Taraji P. Henson, Kristen Wiig and Mark Ruffalo all shine in their roles and help make this flick a good one.

Fans of Carell and Fey will enjoy ‘Date Night’ and will leave the theater satisfied.

Brittany Mallahy, a sophomore accounting major, agrees that ‘Date Night’ is a fun comedy.

‘Date Night is a really cute romantic comedy. Some of the parts are so funny; the movie is really enjoyable,’ Mallahy said.

Taking the No. 2 spot at the box office last weekend, ‘Date Night’ is a movie that will not disappoint. It’s filled with action and laughs until the end and would be a great choice for a movie date.
