Since we have this ultra awkward two day faux spring break, which leaves little time for Cancun and fabulous tans, here is a list of 10 activities for the break.

10. Complete a 1,000-plus piece puzzle. These large puzzles can take a few days of dedicated work to complete, so a mini spring break is the perfect amount of time!

9. We all know that college can encourage awful eating habits. While on spring break learn how cook some simple, yet tasty dishes. This way you can actually enjoy dinner instead of ordering Domino’s for the third night in a row.

8. Ever wanted to get away for the weekend but had too much work or plans with your significant other? This break is the opportunity to visit friends in nearby colleges. Through Greyhound or Short Line, traveling can be quick and affordable.

7. If you have never been to a foreign country, this break could be your chance. Canada is only hours away, with Montreal, Toronto and Niagara Falls offering a myriad of casinos and a younger drinking age.

6. If you’re a live music fan like myself, you probably can’t wait to catch some good concerts over the break. So if you’re in the state of New York over break, here are some good shows to catch: Badly Drawn Boy in New York City on March 7 at Webster Hall and Of Montreal in New York City on March 9 at Irving Plaza.

5. Enjoy the benefits of home. Even though living at home can be a change of pace compared to college (usually dramatic deceleration), it still has many good aspects. Say au revoir to Sodexho and take pleasure in a home cooked meal. Instead of having your friend buzz your hair in the dorm bathroom, go to a barber who you can actually trust.

4. Coming back from the long winter break, it is extremely easy to get caught up with partying at the beginning of the semester. If you went out one too many Tuesday nights or slept through too many of your Friday 8:30 classes, this break is the perfect time to get caught up with work. You have a whole four days to get your act together and finally sit down and do your work.

3. Be lazy (if you are caught up on all your work). This break is the perfect opportunity to be lazy and do absolutely nothing. It’s not long enough for your parents to complain about you not making money or just being an all around lazy college student.

2. Unadulterated Facebook stalking. It’s going to be pretty boring at home and you will have a lot time on your hands, but if you stalk your crushes/exes/roommates at home, you won’t have to face the possible shame of getting caught.

1. Enjoy time to yourself! It seems that we spend very little time on our own as we live, sleep and eat with our friends for pretty much the entire four years of college. Enjoy some time to yourself and get away from all the insanities of college life.
