Sometimes a special tune can add spice to special moments. Pipe Dream’s staff shared some of their favorite sex songs. Whether it’s a song about sex, a song associated with a memory or a song that just has the right vibe, we hope you will consider these songs the next time you feel like it.
“Trust Nobody” by King Princess
“This song just happened to play on shuffle while I was having sex with someone and it made the experience so much better. I can still remember the moment and it gives me chills. It was with a friend with benefits I had sophomore year, but since we were already good friends when we started seeing each other, there was a nice level of comfort and trust between us. I was straight out of a serious relationship so I didn’t really trust anyone with my feelings, but I trusted him with what we were doing. The song fit the relationship perfectly. The lyrics go, “I don’t ever trust nobody / No, I don’t ever trust / But I trust you / Ain’t that great?” Even though we ended the situation years ago, we’re still friends and talk to each other all the time with no level of discomfort. Whenever I hear this song, I think back to my time with him and smile.”
“Planez” by Jeremih feat. J. Cole
“Honestly, there’s no one quite like Jeremih when it comes to sex songs, and adding J. Cole to the mix — not a bad idea at all. In the R&B song ‘Planez,’ the artists narrate their vision of experiences in the ‘Mile High Club,’ as well as other sexual adventures that arise from their lavish lifestyle. The lyrics reference planes through endless sexual innuendos, as seen by the pre-chorus: “Tell her be free, baby, spread your wings / Got your legs in the sky like a plane / Let me guide that, I’m the pilot.” This is an undoubtedly explicit and sexual song, but it’s also catchy and rhythmic, bound to put you in the mood.”
“Afternoon Delight” by Starland Vocal Band
“Have you ever wanted a sex song that gets you so out of the mood you will want to join a nunnery? Have you ever wondered what an R-rated version of “The Brady Bunch” would look like? Have you ever wanted to know what sexy sounded like in the year 1976? Then I wholeheartedly recommend the softest song in the history of rock, ‘Afternoon Delight’ by Starland Vocal Band.”
“Japanese Denim” by Daniel Caesar
“A great sex song is ‘Japanese Denim’ by Daniel Caesar. His voice has a sensual and beautiful tone to it that also moves on a slow tempo. The best sexual songs are very chill, and this one has the chill groove that is perfect for intimate moments.”
“4 Morant (Better Luck Next Time)” by Doja Cat
“The song I pick is ‘4 Morant (Better Luck Next Time)’ by Doja Cat. It’s an unreleased song that made it big on TikTok, written as a vent song when she was in a bad place. In some ways, it’s a song about sex — the attention-seeking, social-climbing, escapism kind of sex. It’s not the kind of song where you pay attention to the lyrics until you’re also hitting a wall like Doja Cat was. Dark.”
“Gotta Get Up (Interlude)” by Kali Uchis
“This song seems to perfectly capture the kind of sex you have at 5 a.m., half-asleep from a restless, passionate night. The dragging, pulsing instrumental fits well with the tender rhythm of bodies in motion. If you have ever had sex that blurs the line between dream and reality, this song is for you. Uchis’ lazy, sensual lyrics seem to embrace both fantasy and the reality of sexual partners and experiences. That being said, there’s no need to read too deep into the lyrics, because hopefully the instrumental (and more importantly, the sex) is good enough to keep your attention on your partner(s). If the song is too short for you, it shares a sample with Puma Blue’s ‘Moon Undah Water,’ which is also quite good. The sample is ‘Love In Triplicate’ by Midas Touch.”
“Sex 101” by Jay Sean feat. Tyga
“I first heard the song while watching a dance studio called 1MILLION Dance Studio’s YouTube account. One of my favorite choreographers, Sori Na, made choreography to it so I decided to check it out. The song is really catchy and got stuck in my head for a while. I wanted to share it because I feel like it’s a very underrated song and not many people have heard it.”
“Shameless” by The Weeknd
“This song may be almost seven years old, but it still holds up in 2022. It’s perfect for a spicy hookup, especially if it’s someone who you just can’t seem to stop coming back to. The Weeknd sings about someone who wants to be good, but keeps asking him to come over, saying every time that it’s the last time. Something about the lyric ‘Who’s gonna fuck you like me?’ just gets me. This one’s for the toxic lovers who truly have no shame.”
