Binghamton Underground Music Presents (BUMP) will be holding a benefit concert at 6 p.m. this Sunday in Old University Union room 111. The lineup consists of student bands of different genres, including Christine Spilka of the Jean Jackets, Ken Herman, The Second Author, Midwest, Basic Printer and the Fine Line. Each band will have a 20-minute set.
The event doesn’t have a set price, but rather a suggested donation of $3. Donating more than this amount is greatly encouraged, as the organization hopes to raise at least $300.
BUMP is pairing up with the Poverty Awareness Coalition to help flood victims. BUMP took care of the details for the show, including booking bands and securing the venue, while PAC will see that all donations are distributed to local flood relief organizations. WHRW is also helping to support this event.
“I would say that the event would be enjoyed by both students and alumni,” said Kelsie Martinez, the BUMP chair for the SA Programming Board and a senior majoring in anthropology. “Each act has their own style and brings something different musically. It will definitely be an enjoyable evening.”
