Name: Burger Mondays
Food type: American, gourmet burgers and salads
Price point: Moderate
Restaurant Week: Lunch and dinner
If you’re a stickler for ambiance, then Burger Mondays is definitely the place to go, with its stylish decor of brick walls and comfortable leather booths. And it’s actually surprisingly large inside, despite its street corner location. While its regular menu could make your mouth salivate, its Restaurant Week menu seems to be rather scarce, with only four choices for your appetizer and main course. And of course, only three for dessert.
If you like small portions, take the slight Caesar salad. But be prepared to drink a lot of water, as this appetizer seemed to be a little on the saltier side. Fortunately, a cute waiter or an elegant waitress will frequently make sure that you doing are OK, so you won’t have to make a single move.
As for the main course, the marinated chicken sandwich is a pretty good alternative to its famous chicken burger — which does not appear on the Restaurant Week menu. Served with a a good portion of delicious skinny steak French fries, the exquisite taste of the grilled chicken flavored with the spicy herbs compensates for the hard bread.
But don’t forget to order the caramelized apple pinwheel for your dessert. This little fantasy could be held in the palm of your hand. Served with a little whipped cream, it will be the best end to your eating experience.
With its excellent customer service, lounge music, sophisticated decoration and its typical exquisite menu, Burger Mondays could have been the winner among all the restaurants that participate in the event, and definitely a restaurant worth going to. But with the limited content, the small portions, the extra salt and the absence of the major burgers on its Restaurant Week menu, it was a tad lackluster for me.
