Here’s a quick rundown of the candidates in this year’s Student Association Executive Board elections. Remember to vote on Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

PRESIDENT

LINDSAY FRANKEL
Junior, Biology
GOALS: Wants to directly connect students and administration, provide transportation to and from health services, improve snow removal on campus, improve OCCT bus routes, allow chalking on campus and provide a Blackboard app for smart phones
EXPERIENCE: executive assistant in the SA president’s office; Assembly representative, 3 years; chair of Student Outreach Committee; past-president of Sophomore Class Council; past-vice president of Freshman Class Council

TRAVIS ROCHON
Junior, Economics
GOALS: Wants to put up bulletin boards to promote transparency, audit SA finances and increase campus unity through co-sponsorship of events by student groups
EXPERIENCE: Assembly representative, 3 years; treasurer of Theta Delta Chi fraternity

MARK SORIANO
Junior, History
GOALS: Wants to make the SA E-Board more available to students through monthly forums with student body and weekly meetings with community presidents, improve student-landlord relationships, improve OCCT bus routes, have all required textbooks put on reserve in the library, force departments to provide blue books to students taking exams and organize student groups by category to allow better collaboration
EXPERIENCE: resident assistant; managing editor of Binghamton Review; past-president of CIW Community Council; past-treasurer of CIW Community Council

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

ANTHONY GALLI
Sophomore, Political Science
GOALS: Wants to make PAWS more user-friendly, bridge the Student Association, ResLife and Greek Life, connect student groups with the Career Development Center, fundraise for student groups from alumni and local businesses, provide storage space to student groups and create a map of rooms on campus with information about clubs’ meetings
EXPERIENCE: resident assistant; Assembly representative; vice chairman of SA Rules Committee; past-president of Mohawk Hall; past-president of Freshman Class Council

DEREK GUMB
Junior, Philosophy, Politics and Law
GOALS: Wants to improve functionality of PAWS, provide a PODS availability App for smartphones, host meetings of student groups from similar categories, improve communication between student groups and the SA, and grow the student group spotlight program to promote student groups
EXPERIENCE: president of Endicott Hall; assists current EVP with club outreach; Newing leadership assistant; chief information officer of Student in Free Enterprise

JAMES KISSMER
Sophomore, Economics and Political Science
GOALS: Wants to bridge the gap between students and administration, maintain or increase funding for student groups and community governments, ensure transparency and accountability within the SA, and increase voter turnout in SA elections
EXPERIENCE: executive vice president of Dickinson Town Council; chair of SA Constitutional Reform Committee

CARLTON RAMSAY
Junior, Economics and Biochemistry
GOALS: Wants to hold monthly meetings with representatives from every student group, improve PAWS and make its use mandatory, allow online reservations for BSSL and SA Ink, and use BTV to highlight different student groups
EXPERIENCE: SA vice president for multicultural affairs

VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE

ERIC LARSON
Junior, Economics
GOALS: Wants to implement an electronic voucher system and expand the newly implemented database of student group expenditures
EXPERIENCE: treasurer of Binghamton Review; Financial Council representative; Assembly representative; assistant in the VPF’s office; vice chair of Bylaws Committee

STACEY TROY
Sophomore, Actuarial Science
GOALS: Wants to improve transparency and communication both within the VPF’s office and within FINCO, implement better training for student group treasurers and improve voucher turnaround times
EXPERIENCE: treasurer of CIW Community Council; assistant in the VPF’s office

VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

DAVID BLAIR
Junior, Mathematical Sciences
GOALS: Wants to make it easier to transfer between Binghamton’s five undergraduate colleges, restructure new student orientations, make the Office of Student Conduct more transparent, better educate students about academic honesty, bring more academic programing to campus and release all information about grades for classes
EXPERIENCE: Orientation adviser; Assembly representative

AARON RICKS
Junior, Political Science
GOALS: Want to increase professionalism in student advocate program, implement a universal bereavement policy, expand the New York Times program, implement a Blackboard smartphone app and increase academic programming
EXPERIENCE: Editor in Chief of Binghamton Review; SA treasurer; student advocate; VPAA assistant

SANDRA HARPER
First-year transfer student from Broome Community College, Human Development
GOALS: Wants to better educate students about financial aid and major requirements
EXPERIENCE: Assembly representative; student assembly president at BCC

VICE PRESIDENT FOR MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS

DANIEL ADEYANJU
Junior, Biology
GOALS: Wants to have a campus-wide event featuring multicultural entertainment and food, have a week designated to celebrate diversity on campus, create a calendar of multicultural student group events to encourage groups to work together and publish a collaborative magazine with all of the campus multicultural groups
EXPERIENCE: vice president of African Student Organization (ASO); past-educational coordinator of ASO

TEDDY GYAMFI
Junior, Africana Studies
GOALS: Wants to hold collaborative events between ResLife and multicultural groups, hold off-campus events to promote multiculturalism in the Binghamton area, team up with academic departments to allow students to get extra credit for participating in relevant activities with student groups, help cultural groups fundraise and recognize multicultural groups for their achievements
EXPERIENCE: Assembly representative, 2 years; member of JUMP Nation and Hindu Student Council

VICE PRESIDENT FOR PROGRAMMING 

LIAN FRIIA
Junior, Math
GOALS: Wants to diversify the concert genre, provide giveaways at events, sponsor trips off campus and hold an outdoor movie night once a semester
EXPERIENCE: Assembly representative; novelty chair of SA Programing Board; past-vice president of Sophomore Class Council

CARL SCHRECONGOST
Junior, Geography
GOALS: Wants to make the concert surveys more sophisticated and reach students who don’t normally answer them, bring free food back to Spring Fling and increase organization within the SAPB
