All tanned up and ready to go, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi stopped by Binghamton University Thursday where she spoke to students, gave a lesson on fist-pumping and judged an ab competition. Release got close and personal with the Poughkeepsie native and even surprised her with some of Bing’s own fried pickles.
Release: How has your life changed since season 1 of ‘Jersey Shore?’
Snooki: I can’t go out anywhere. If I go shopping, it’s like ‘Oh my God! It’s Snooki!’ I’m hoping since it’s Halloween, I can wear a mask to the mall and nobody will know who I am.
R: Is it true that you are designing a clothing line?
S: Clothing, slippers, jewelry, bronzer ‘ I’m working with a couple of companies but ultimately, I’m the boss so whatever I say goes. My slippers are coming out soon, the ones that I wore in Miami ‘ they look like sneakers. They’re comfy.
R: What’s going on with your new novel?
S: My novel is called ‘A Shore Thing.’ Pretty much it’s like when I go down to the shore ‘ you party, obviously there’s drama, you work, you go down with your friends. There’s two girls living in the city, then they went to the shore, then they have problems with their ex-boyfriends, problems with girls, catfights, maybe somebody goes to jail. This is my first book that I wrote ever, so good luck. (Laughs)
R: Do you ever run into people dressed as you?
S: Even if it’s not Halloween I see girls dressing like me. This one time I saw this girl at the boardwalk and she was wearing slippers and I was like ‘What is this girl doing?’ I only did that because I was hungover and I didn’t feel like wearing shoes to work so I wore my slippers. I guess I’m like a fashion statement or something.
R: Any information about season 3?
S: Season 3 we have a new roommate. Her name is Deena. I brought her in. I needed a party girl to party with me at the shore. It was pretty much craziness ‘ Miami but times 10.
R: Do you keep up with the season and watch the episodes as they air?
S: Well, we watch them beforehand so I know what goes on. I usually watch them with my dad at my dad’s house so if I know I’m going to hook up with a guy or I’m going to smoosh him I won’t go to my dad’s. That’s weird to watch yourself hooking up in front of your dad.
R: What’s your drink of choice when you go out?
S: It depends on the mood: If I’m not looking to get really crazy, then I’ll have a couple vodka-seltzers. But if I’m ready to go crazy then it’s Long Islands ‘ or Soko lime shots.
R: If a fan meets you at a club, how do they make a good impression on you?
S: The worst thing to do is to come up to me and scream and cry in my face cause you’re just going to freak me out and I’ll run away. The best thing to do is buy me a drink and be like ‘I like Long Islands too, let’s get drunk!’ I’m a normal person so just be normal.
R: What’s your biggest dream?
S: I want enough money to support a family. I want a big family.
