FRIDAY, NOV. 18, 11:30 a.m. — A 19-year-old female student reported to Binghamton’s New York State University Police that she has been harassed repeatedly by a 20-year-old male student with whom she had an argument last semester, Investigator James Reilly said. The suspect had been sending the victim text and Facebook messages of a sexual nature, and he also showed up at the victim’s suite uninvited. The suspect was advised by UPD to not have any contact with the victim and to stay away from her suite.
SATURDAY, NOV. 19, 10:37 p.m — The Hillel lounge in the New University Union reported a complaint to UPD that an unknown person has been stealing food from their refrigerator, Reilly said. He said that from now on, the room will be locked at night and locks will be placed on the refrigerator and freezer. There are no suspects or witnesses.
MONDAY, NOV. 21, 5:42 p.m. — Police responded to reports of a male-female fight in the Glenn G. Bartle Library, Reilly said. A female student in the library was approached by her former boyfriend, a 21-year-old male non-student. The victim’s current boyfriend, a 19-year-old male student, was also present. Both males began pushing each other after the suspect and the victim got into a verbal argument. The suspect then punched the victim’s current boyfriend in the face three times. Harpur’s Ferry was called to the scene. The males had been separated by the time officers on patrol arrived. UPD called the suspect in the following day and arrested him for assault in the third degree. The suspect was issued an appearance ticket for the Vestal Town Court.
MONDAY, NOV. 21, 8:15 p.m. — Officers on patrol responded to reports of flooding on the second floor of College-in-the-Woods Dining Hall, Reilly said. Plumbers on the scene reported that someone had put paper in one of the urinals in the bathroom, causing it to overflow, and that this was the third time this happened in the past month. There are no suspects.
