It’s that time of the year again. The days are growing a little longer, it’s still getting colder and my balls are shrinking just a tad bit more. That’s why it’s the perfect time to put on a show all about vaginas and the women to whom they belong to.

“The Vagina Monologues,” directed by Latasha Stephens, is going to be performed this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Feb. 16-18) at 8:45 p.m. in Dickinson Dining Hall. Since this publication comes out on Friday, I encourage you to check out the Friday or Saturday shows.

For those who may not know, “The Vagina Monologues” is a play that features monologues by several different women. Some of the stories they tell are humorous, while others tend to be very sad, sometimes recounting traumatic sexual experiences. Regardless, all the stories are insightful and entertaining.

If you’re saying to yourself, “Why should I go? I’ve seen it the past three years here,” then here’s a treat for you: there are two brand new, never-before-seen monologues this year. Rumor has it that they’re very racy. There’s also audience participation, so don’t be a shy little baby.

As if a play featuring women saying “cunt” over and over wasn’t good enough to warrant your attention, there are also baked goods and other confections being sold at the performances. Among these are vaginally shaped “pussy pops,” which are being advertised as (I kid you not) “the cheapest pussy on campus.” You’ve got to love that.

Tickets are $6 at the door, and all proceeds from the show go straight to charity. Now who can’t feel good about that?
