Monday marks five years since the attacks of Sept. 11. To commemorate the day, the Student Association has organized a number of on-campus events.
Sept. 11
– 8:30 a.m. — Flag lowering memorial ceremony at the Couper Administration Building
– 11 a.m. — 7 p.m. – Binghamton University Mitzvah (Good Deed) Marathon between the New Union and Library Tower
– Noon — 1 p.m. – Commemorative program at the Memorial Courtyard in Fine Arts Building, with remarks by Col. Jacob Goldstein, senior U.S. Army chaplain at Ground Zero, and a performance by the Binghamton Pegs and Crosbys of “God Bless America” and the national anthem.

The day will also be remembered in the City of Binghamton at a Memorial Service that begins at 11 a.m. at the Binghamton Firefighters and Police Officers Park, which will be followed by a procession to Binghamton City Hall and a brief ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial.
