These emo princes have come a long way from their debut album Tell All Your Friends (2001). During that time the band played small shows, unlike their current sold out concerts for their ‘Louder Now Tour,’ which is still going on. With tops hits like ‘A Decade Under the Influence,’ ‘MakeDamnSure’ and their current hit ‘Liar (It Takes One to Know One),’ these guys have earned enough brownie points to become your Artist of the Week.

Since Taking Back Sunday’s (also known as TBS) formation, they have gone through a couple of lineup changes. Turns out that lead singer, Adam Lazzara was the band’s second front man after Antonio Longo left the group; however, this took place long before their debut album was released. Jesse Lacey, who is now the front man for Brand New, was the original bass player, who was replaced by Shaun Cooper. After Warped Tour 2003, bassist Shaun Cooper and singer/guitarist John Nolan left the band to form Straylight Run.

But through it all, these guys have been able to grow not just through age, but also through their music.

Some Fun Facts about the band:

‘Sorry girls, but it’s official, Adam Lazzara is now engaged to lead guitarist Chauntelle DuPree from the band Eisley.

‘Former guitarist Josh Nolan once had bitter ties with Lazzara. This was only because he found out that Adam Lazzara cheated on Nolan’s sister, Michelle, while they were going out. This also may be the reason why Josh Nolan left the band. (Michelle Nolan also happens to be a member of Straylight Run.)

‘Former member Antonio Longo can sometimes be found in Spoon Coffeehouse in Lindenhurst, Long Island, bitching about how much Taking Back Sunday sucks. And there is even a BU student who claims to have actually seen him in a nearby bar doing exactly that.

‘Adam Lazzara hit his fellow band mate Matt Rubano over the head with his microphone during a show. This was only because Lazzara’s signature move is swinging his mic around his neck ‘ a move that Jesse Lacey has been against, and has even made T-shirts for stating: ‘Mics are for singing not swinging ‘ you know who you are.’ TBS responded with another shirt that reads: ‘Swinging mics since 1999.’
