“What’s the matter buddy/ Ain’t you heard of my school/ It’s No. 1 in the state?” The rah rah spirit of the Beach Boys song “Be True to Your School” definitely rings true this weekend here at BU, as the campus gets overtaken with homecoming fever.

Even though we don’t have a football team, there is plenty of Bearcat action to give the alumni something to cheer about this weekend. Both soccer teams will be in action this weekend, with the men’s team looking for revenge Saturday afternoon when it takes on Stony Brook, the team that ended its title hopes last season. The defending AE champion volleyball team will also be in action, looking to extend its winning streak and remain undefeated in conference play. And for the only time this season, the golf team will play in Binghamton at its annual home tournament at Hiawatha Landing. So get out there, show your support and make Brian Wilson proud by being true to your school.

Pipe Dream’s Golden Pipe Award: Men’s soccer forward Peter Sgueglia has been a one-man wrecking crew lately. After scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Hartford last week, Sgueglia added a pair of unassisted goals in the team’s 3-1 road victory over University of Maryland, Baltimore County, on Wednesday. The victory was only the Bearcats’ second road win of the season and allowed them to remain tied for second place in the America East. Sgueglia now has four goals and 12 points on the season.

Voice of the Fans: “Corey Lidle’s short time in the Bronx and journeyman baseball career will always live on. RIP Mr. Lidle.” — Cliff Nguyen, junior finance major.
