FRIDAY, DEC. 2, 10:25 p.m. — Officers on patrol responded to reports of a marijuana smell in Newing College’s Bingham Hall, said Investigator Patrick Reilly of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. The officers identified the room from which the smell was originating, and the room’s two occupants let in the officers. When asked whether they had been smoking in the room, one of the students denied it, but said that his brother had been smoking outside. The suspect, a 19-year-old male, produced a grinder and one gram of a green leafy substance which tested positive for marijuana. The student was arrested and issued a ticket to the Vestal Town Court.
SATURDAY, DEC. 3, 4:13 a.m. — University Police received a report about a suspicious male in the Mandela Room, Reilly said. Officers on patrol responded to the room and found a male urinating on the floor and a wall in the room. The officers asked the suspect, an 18-year-old male student, what he was doing. He responded that he was going to the bathroom. The student was very intoxicated and had trouble standing, so the officers called Harpur’s Ferry. They also issued the student a ticket for disorderly conduct.
SATURDAY, DEC. 3, 2:37 p.m. — A tray of 25 cookies and 25 cupcakes went missing from a graduate School of Management class in Academic Building A that gets lunch and desserts delivered from Sodexo, Reilly said. Members of the class, which meets for eight hours every other week, called Sodexo representatives, who confirmed that the desserts had been delivered. They then called University Police. UPD was unable to find the missing tray. There are no suspects.
SUNDAY, DEC. 4, 4:37 a.m. — Officers doing a walk-through in Newing College’s Bingham Hall observed a 20-year-old male student in a hallway yelling “fuck you” and “I’ll throw up on your stuff if I want to.” The officers observed a pile of vomit in the hallway. They questioned the suspect, who told the officers to stop harassing him and that they didn’t have any evidence. He then yelled “fuck you, cop” and became physically aggressive. The officers called Harpur’s Ferry, who took the suspect to Binghamton General Hospital. The suspect also exhibited disruptive behavior at the hospital. He was issued two tickets for disorderly conduct.
