Facehooked
Without the Facebook.com, Logan Alexander Walter and Logan Alexandra Walters may never have met. According to Baylor University’s student newspaper, Walter, who is a Baylor student, and Walters, who attends DePaul University, discovered each other on the Facebook over a year ago. After Walter initially messaged Walters on the Facebook, noting the connection, the two began exchanging emails. A month later, after each overcame suspicions that the other was either a stalker or the product of a prank, they conversed over the phone. One month after that, Walter flew to Chicago to visit Walters, and the two have been listed as “in a relationship” ever since.
That rum is deadly
Builders in Szeged, Hungary, were thrilled to find a barrel of rum while renovating a house. They eagerly consumed the beverage, even bottling some to take home, because they found the rum to have a distinctly unique taste. Unfortunately, they found out the cause of that taste when they reached the bottom of the barrel, and according to Reuters, the naked corpse of a man tumbled out. It turns out that “the body of the man had been shipped back from Jamaica 20 years ago by his wife in the barrel of rum in order to avoid the cost and paperwork of an official return” to his home country.
Wook at that love
Wook Kundor, 104 years old, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was recently married for the 21st time, and her new husband, Muhamad Noor Che Musa, is only 33. According to CNN, Musa formed a bond with Kundor, whom he “initially sympathized with because she was childless, old and alone.” However, that bond, they say, eventually blossomed into love. Musa has emphasized that he is “not after her money, as she is poor.”
Grafiddling with the law
Seth Gerszberg wants to have graffiti on his house. However, Gerszberg has been cited by Miami officials for violating the city’s anti-graffiti ordinance. Gerszberg claims that the city’s policy on graffiti violates his first amendment right to free expression, and has challenged the law in court. According to the Reuters news service, Gerszberg, who is a business partner of fashion designer Marc Ecko, is a connoisseur of graffiti art and a supporter of graffiti artists. Ecko, for his part, has already sued New York City on behalf of seven artists, “charging the city’s anti-graffiti laws went too far by barring people under 21 from possessing spray paint or broad-tipped markers.”
Bergeron or Burgundy?
Real estate tycoon Ronald Bergeron was taking visitors on a tour of his private nature preserve last Sunday when he decided to entertain his guests by jumping on the back of one of his alligators. Bergeron, 62, claims he wrestles the alligators on his 5,000+ acre preserve in Hendry County, Fla., often, usually “for a minute before letting it go.” However, this time he lost control of the beast, and it dragged him under water, puncturing his hand and fracturing several bones. The Associated Press reported that Bergeron managed to resurface when guests grabbed the alligator’s tail and pulled it out of the water. Despite the ordeal, Bergeron said he’ll continue to wrestle alligators, saying it’s “too exciting,” and is “part of my Florida cracker culture.”
