Hungover in Handcuffs
SATURDAY, Nov. 21, 1:48 a.m.- Officers on patrol noticed two males dragging an 18-year-old male by the feet in Lot Q, Reilly said. It was confirmed that the male was conscious but could not walk because he was heavily intoxicated. The male was drinking earlier in the night in Downtown Binghamton. The male was able to answer certain questions but could not walk and kept vomiting. Harpur’s Ferry was called for the male. When they arrived they said that he needed to go to the hospital. The male became agitated and was arrested for public intoxication in order to get him to Binghamton General Hospital.
Too Old for this Shit
SATURDAY, Nov. 21, 10:14 p.m.- Officers on patrol saw a vehicle exceed the speed limit on Murray Hill Drive by the ITC, Reilly said. The vehicle was pulled over and the 52-year-old male’s license and registration were taken. A check of the suspect’s ID came up that his license was suspended for failure to pay a fine. The suspect was given two tickets for speeding and aggravated unlicensed driving. The officers ensured that the passenger in the vehicle had a valid license and then told him to drive the vehicle instead. The suspect said that he was speeding because he was late for his son’s football game.
The Negotiator
SATURDAY, Nov. 21, 2:33 p.m.- An 18-year-old female was drinking on State Street the night before and called a cab home at the end of the night, Reilly said. On the ride back the victim became sick and vomited in the cab. The driver, a 36-year-old male, took the victim’s phone and told her that she would get it back once she paid the $150 cleanup fee. The victim went to her room to get the money and when she came back the cab was gone. She contacted UPD and said that she tracked her phone to the south side of Binghamton. The officers were able to determine which cab company the driver worked for and were able to contact the driver. The driver met with them on campus and told them that he took the phone as collateral until he got the fee. The officers explained that it was not an enforceable fine so he was technically committing larceny by taking her phone. The driver gave back the phone and the officers discussed the proper cab driving procedures with him.
We’ve Got a Weiner!
