This weekend the Binghamton University women’s basketball team will be coming face to face with those hated rivals from Albany. Unfortunately for the BU Zoo, it isn’t the Danes, but rather the St. Rose Golden Knights.

The Bearcats will look to end their exhibition season undefeated when they square off with St. Rose tonight at 7 p.m. at the Events Center. It will be the final tune up game for head coach Rich Conover’s squad before opening the regular season next week at Kansas.

The Bearcats are fresh off a dominating performance which saw them down Division II Le Moyne by 43 points. The Bearcats shot an astounding 63 percent from the field and will hope to keep that up against the Golden Knights, another D-II squad. This is also the last time that Conover will be able to assess his freshmen before the season starts, and if center Erin Owens comes close to her 15 point outing against Le Moyne, it should become clear that the Bearcats will have a very dangerous weapon on their bench.

Conover still hopes to see more of a defensive effort than last game, since BU tended to lack some intensity on the defensive end once the game was in their hands.

St. Rose will be taking the court for the first time this season, and the Bearcats will look to make their first game an unpleasant one.
