TUESDAY, JAN. 25, 9 p.m. — A 20-year-old female student reported that her wallet was stolen from the computer PODS in Glenn G. Bartle Library, according to Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. She told officers that she forgot it upon departing at 2:30 p.m. and when she returned half an hour later, she realized it was missing. The wallet contained cash and various credit cards. The suspect is unknown.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 26, 11:51 a.m. — Bartle Library employees reported to officers on patrol that they had found some graffiti and garbage left in an isolated area of the library, Bush said. Officers found cigarette butts, empty coffee cups and other trash in the room. It is unknown as to who could have caused the mess, as it likely happened sometime last semester.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 26, 2:40 p.m. — A 19-year-old female student living in Hinman College’s Smith Hall reported to police that, upon returning from break, she found several of her belongings missing from her room, Bush said. She was missing property including bowls, silverware and some lip gloss. A witness said that they saw the victim’s old roommate, a 20-year-old female student, moving around in the victim’s room before they left for break. The victim chose to take no action in the case.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 26, 9:55 p.m. — Officers on patrol responded to a fire alarm that went off on the first floor of Hinman College’s Cleveland Hall, Bush said. Officers found that the alarm was fraudulent, reported it to the Vestal Fire Department and advised them to reset the alarm. There are no suspects or witnesses to the incident.

FRIDAY, JAN. 28, 2:05 a.m. — A cab driver approached a patrol vehicle and gave the officer a wallet that was left in the cab, Bush said. Upon inspection of the wallet, two sets of identification were found. One was a forged Maine driver’s license. The officer contacted the owner of the wallet, a 19-year-old male student, who admitted that the identification was fake. The fake ID was later confiscated and destroyed.
