What is the best outcome when there are two matches in three days after three matchless weeks? How about routing both opponents and improving to a school-best 6-0 in dual events this season? The Binghamton women’s tennis team clobbered both St. Bonaventure and Niagara this weekend winning 7-0 and 6-1, respectively.

The Bearcats traveled north to St. Bonaventure on Friday and displayed superior talent and experience, steamrolling from beginning to end. As a team the Bearcats won every match played and dropped a total of only nine games; this included three perfect singles matches completed by Zeynep Altinay, Jenn Naegeli and Nicole Scarangella.

Binghamton returned home to face Niagara Sunday. The Bearcats showed no signs of letting up their elite level of play as they cruised to a 6-1 win. Altinay did not drop a single game all weekend and posted her school-record 79th career singles win. Lya Kushnirovich won for the second time in as many tries this weekend, bringing her singles win total to 77.

The Bearcats will travel to Ithaca, N.Y., this Friday in hopes of protecting their perfect 6-0 record against University of Massachusetts.
