Graham Kates
Junior political science major
Platform: If elected, Kates would work to reach a compromise with the Faculty Senate on the add/drop deadline and to keep the Night Owl opened 24/7 during finals week. He also plans to work toward ending the Alcohol.Edu program, feeling that “Alcohol.Edu is worse for students than Kevin Federline is for rap.”
Interests: Baseball, photography, “trying to figure out why they got rid of Minkus on Boy Meets World” and trying to create the perfect chicken wing sauce.
Rebecca (Becky) Kaufman
Sophomore political communications major
Platform: “I want to bring a liberal arts internship fair to campus, because the internship fairs that the CDC hold are mainly for engineering and business students.” She would also work to create a committee of students and administrators from the five different schools to discuss the criteria for majors and to bring a medical school fair to campus.
Interests: Knitting, writing, music and “long walks on the beach.”
Dave Belsky
Sophomore political science major
Platform: If elected, Belsky would focus on bringing every resource that the SA and University have online, to one place and with a single sign on, through the PAWS program. He would also continue his work to expand the duties of the executive vice presidential office. “I think that the EVP should be doing more than just the minimum.”
Interests: “I love the Bearcats, I’m facebook obsessed,” bowling, tennis, and playing X-men and Madden on Xbox.
Chris Powell
Sophomore economics and geography major with a management adjunct
Platform: If elected, Powell “would like to have a return to the constitutional definitions of the office,” to limit “wasteful spending” and to increase the amount of attention paid to resources student groups receive, such as office space, and redistribute resources more equally as groups change in size and structure.
Interests: Going to the gym, motorcycles, beer pong and “just hanging out.”
